South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -August 15, 2008 <br />Asbestos work on the Gates property is expected to <br />begin Sept 1. Demolition of the Gates building <br />will start in early October, as will site prep on <br />parcels we presently own. By spring 2009 we <br />should see some new construction. <br />Mr. Schalliol indicated that future Commission <br />action will be required to add more properties to <br />acquisition list, acquire those properties, and <br />contract for professional services to move the <br />development along. <br />(2) Council <br />Mr. Inks noted that during its presentation on the <br />real and personal property tax abatements before <br />the Council, staff intends to do a complete <br />presentation to the Council on the Certified <br />Technology Park concept and the application that <br />the city is submitting. <br />8.
