INDIANA 46601 ORDINANCE NO. 4993 -68 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 36 -9, RATES OF FARE OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, SAID ARTICLE BEING COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE TAXICAB ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend that Section 36 -9 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, 1962, so as to read as follows: SECTION 1. The rates of fare charged by the operator of any taxicab shall be as follows: (a) Hour Rates: $4.00 per hour for one or more passengers, if so hired before the trip is begun. (b) Mileage Rates: 45� for the first one fifth of a mile or fraction thereof, 10� for each additional one fourth of a mile or fraction thereafter. (c) Waiting Time: 20� for each three (3) minutes of waiting time or fraction thereof. Every taxicab operated under this Article shall have a rate card setting forth the authorized rates of fare displayed in such a place as to be in view of all passengers. SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, and approval by the Mayor.
