Transfer of funds from Police Dept. to Controller's Department AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO ACCOUNT B -53, "REFUNDS, AWARDS AND INDEMNITIES" IN THE CONTROLLER "S OFFICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUM FROM AC- COUNT P -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL" IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, ALL BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions of city government to meet such extraordinary conditions; and, WHEREAS, additional funds are needed by the Controller's Office for refunds, awards and indemnities and to assure the depart- ment's ability to properly perform its functions. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That the sum of $5,000.00 be transferred from Account P -11, "Services Personal" in the Police Department and trans- ferred and appropriated to Account B -53, "Refunds, Awards and Indemni- ties" in the Controller's Office, both accounts being within the Gen- eral Fund. SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor, legal publication and the fulfillment of all statutory require- ments of emergency appropriations.
