ORDINANCE NO. 1 Z ~S ~ ~o <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $126,081 RECEIVED FROM THE U. S. <br />DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT'S EMERGENCY SHELTER <br />GRANT PROGRAM <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />In order to deliver services to homeless individuals within our community, the City of <br />South Bend received funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for <br />the delivery of such services through various subgrantees. The funds appropriated in this <br />ordinance will aid in defraying the costs of shelter operation and maintenance and in providing <br />essential services and assistance in homeless prevention. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana: <br />Section I. The sum of $126,081 is hereby appropriated and allocated among accounts as <br />set forth below: <br />PROJECT NUMBER <br />DESCRIPTION <br />AMOUNT <br />ES 02-1 Center for the Homeless, Inc. <br />ES 02-2 St. Joseph County AIDS Task Force <br />ES 02-3 Youth Service Bureau <br />ES 02-4 YWCA of St. Joseph County <br /> Administrative Costs <br /> TOTAL <br />$45,800 <br />9,131 <br />20,250 <br />45,900 <br />5.000 <br />$126,081 <br />Section II. No costs will be incurred or funds expended for any of the programs <br />addressed in this ordinance prior to completion and subsequent certification of the Environmental <br />Review Process specified in Title Twenty-four (24) Part Fifty-Eight (58) of the Code of Federal <br />Regulations, containing the Environmental Review Procedures for the Emergency Shelter Grants <br />Program, and the receipt of an official release of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development. <br />Section III.
