Schedule A - Truck Route <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5047 -68 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE VI, SECTION <br />25 -80 OF ORDINANCE NO. 4608 -63, BEING THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, REDE- <br />FINING TRUCK ROUTES, AS AMENDED. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA: <br />SECTION I. That Ordinance No. 4168, June 14, 1957, and being Section 25 -80 <br />of Article VI of Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code of South Bend, Indiana, <br />be amended and it is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(a) Intercity trucks, as defined in paragraph (a) of Section <br />25 -79 shall enter the city, pass through the city and leave the <br />city upon established state or federal highways only, to prohibit <br />intercity trucks and through trucks, from using Marion Street from <br />Michigan Street to Lincolnway West and Madison Street from <br />Lincolnway West to Michigan Street, in the City of South Bend, <br />between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M., local time, and <br />that proper and adequate signs to their effect be posted on <br />appropriate streets,and shall not drive upon any other public <br />street of the city at any time; provided, that they shall be <br />permitted to drive upon such other public streets of the city <br />upon the direction of a city or state police officer or to <br />follow a marked and established city detour or to obtain <br />necessary emergency mechanical repairs. <br />(b) Intercity trucks, as defined in paragraph (b) of section <br />25 -79, shall enter the city and proceed to the point within the <br />city which is their destination in accordance with the shortest <br />combination of state or federal highways, city truck routes and <br />access routes, as shown upon a map entitled "Schedule A -1 ", as <br />amended, which map shall be construed to be as much a part of <br />this section as if it were fully set out herein. At least two <br />copies of this map shall be on file in the office of the city <br />clerk for public inspection. Such trucks shall not be driven <br />upon any other public streets of the city at any time; provided, <br />that it shall be permissible to drive such trucks upon such <br />other public streets of the city upon the direction of a city or <br />state police officer or to follow a marked and established city <br />detour or to obtain necessary emergency mechanical repairs. <br />All intercity trucks, as defined in paragraph (b) of section <br />25 -79, entering the city and proceeding to a point within the <br />city which is their destination, but which is not shown upon <br />"Schedule A -1 ", as amended, shall follow state or national <br />highways, city truck routes and access routes as shown on <br />"Schedule A -1 ", as amended; from the point upon such routes <br />which is nearest to their point of beginning and shall not <br />travel upon any other public streets of the city, except as <br />provided in the first paragraph of this subsection (b). <br />(c) Intercity trucks, as defined in paragraph (c) of section <br />25 -79, shall proceed from the point within the city, which is <br />their starting point, to the city limits by the shortest combi- <br />nation of state and federal highways, city truck routes and <br />access routes shown upon "Schedule A -1 ", as amended, and shall <br />not drive upon any other public streets of the city at any time; <br />
