November 6, 1969
Mr. James A. Bickel
City Controller
City Hail
South Bend, Indiana 46601
Dear Mr. Bickel:
Let this letter serve as my request for a transfer of
funds within the budget of the Office of City Judge.
In the budget designation E -215, the transportation
allowance for my Bailiff and Probation Officer is provided.
The amount of money appropriated for this year has all
been expended. It is my request that $200.00 be transferred
from the appropriation identified as B -12 to E -215.
e4'_ a
This is an emergency appropriation and the reason for the
request is the substantial number of miles driven by both
the Bailiff and Probation Officer in serving subpoenas
resulting from the heavy caseload which the City Court
carries. As you know, my men serve all subpoenas out-
side the city limits of South Bend.
I would appreciate your prompt attention.
GEH /jms
Very truly yours,
X-eQ F. gk__C .._ &A.,`
George E. Herendeen
Judge, South Bend City Court
