ORDINANCE NO. 5191 -69 AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $62,727.19 TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND. WHEREAS, there was enacted during the 1969 Session of the Indiana General Assembly an Act, Chapter 392 of the Acts of 1969, making available to cities, towns and counties for engineer- ing, construction or reconstruction of roads, streets and bridges under local jurisdiction, certain additional funds to be de- rived from the 7th and 8th cents of Indiana motor fuel tax and fuel use tax and from increases in fees levied under the Motor Vehicle Act; and WHEREAS, an ordinance has been introduced to appropriate these funds, known as the Local Road and Street Fund; and WHEREAS, certain projects have been undertaken which qualify for receipt of these additional funds; and WHEREAS, funds have been expended from regularly appropriated MVH accounts for the completion of these projects, thereby depleting these accounts; and WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring the appropria- tion of more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions of city government to meet such ex- traordinary conditions; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That for additional expenses incidental to the operation of the Street Department there is hereby appro- priated from the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund to the following: A. Account MVH- 323,1'Tires and Tubes" the sum of $3,000.00, B. Account MVH -37, "Other Supplies" the sum of $2,000.00 C. Account MVH -42, "Street and Alley Materials" the sum of $50,227.19, and D. Account MVH -722, "Motor Equipment" the sum of $7,500.00 SECTION II.
