ORDINANCE NO. 5113-69
<br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE MUNICIPAL
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, GENERALLY DESCRIBED
<br />AS LYING NORTH OF DOUGLAS ROAD, WEST OF MAPLE
<br />ROAD AND SOUTH OF THE NORTHERN INDIANA TOLL ROAD.
<br />Be it enacted by the Common Council of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana that:
<br />Section 1 - The following described land, lying adjacent
<br />to and forming a contiguous boundary with the present City Limits
<br />of the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, more particularly
<br />described as:
<br />Beginning at a point where the south right -of -way
<br />line of Douglas Road intersects the west line of
<br />Section 34, T38N, R2E, which is a point on the existing
<br />city limits of the City of South Bend, Indiana; thence
<br />west following the south right -of -way line of Douglas
<br />Road a distance of 5280 feet more or less to a point
<br />on the west section line of Section 33, T38N, R2E;
<br />thence north along said west section line of said
<br />Section 33 a distance of 30 feet more or less to the
<br />northwest corner of Section 33, T38N, R2E; thence east
<br />or west as required to the southwest corner of Section 28,
<br />T38N, R2E; thence north on the west section line of afore-
<br />said Section 28 a distance of 5280 feet more or less to
<br />the northwest corner of aforesaid Section 28; thence east
<br />or west as required to the southwest corner of Section 21,
<br />T38N, R2E; thence north on the west section line of
<br />Section 21, T38N, R2E a distance of 2930 feet more or
<br />less to a point of intersection with the south right -of-
<br />way line of the Northern Indiana Toll Road; thence east
<br />and southeast following the south right -of -way line of
<br />the Northern Indiana Toll Road a distance of 6480 feet
<br />more or less to a point 15 feet east of the east right -
<br />of -way line of Maple Road (said point being on the present
<br />city limits); thence south and west following the existing
<br />city limits a distance of 5300 feet more or less to the
<br />place of beginning, all in Sections 33, 28, 21 and 27,
<br />T38N, R2E, and containing 855.8 acres more or less.
<br />be and the same hereby is annexed as a part of the Municipal City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Section 2 - This Ordinance is to be in full force and
<br />effect from and after its enactment, the approval of the Mayor,
<br />and its publication according to law.
