SLOUGH <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5095 -69 Om' CLERK, SOUTH BEND, IND. <br />AN ORDINANCE FURTHER AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 32321 AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS <br />THE COUNCIIMANIC DISTRICT ORDINANCE, <br />BEING SECTION 12 OF CHAPTER 1 OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA: <br />SECTION I. That Ordinance No. 3232, as amended, being Section <br />12 of Chapter 1 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, commonly <br />known as the Councilmanic District Ordinance, be further amended to read <br />as follows: <br />"The City is hereby divided into six councilmanic districts <br />which shall be known as: First District, Second District, Third District, <br />Fourth District, Fifth District and Sixth District. Such districts are <br />hereby bounded as follows: <br />"First District. Beginning at the intersection of the center <br />line of East Colfax Avenue and the center of the St. Joseph River; thence <br />west along the center line of Colfax Avenue to the center line of Lafayette <br />Boulevard; thence north along the center line of Lafayette Boulevard to the <br />center line of LaSalle Street; thence west along the center line of LaSalle <br />Street, to the center line of Lincolnway West; thence northwesterly along <br />the center line of Lincolnway West to the center line of the north -south <br />alley lying between Elmer and Huey Streets; thence north along the center <br />line of said alley to the center line of Elwood Avenue; thence west along <br />the center line of Elwood Avenue to the center line of Bendix Drive; thence <br />north along the center line of Bendix Drive to the City Limits of South <br />Bend; thence along the city limits in a generally northerly and easterly <br />direction to the St. Joseph River; thence generally easterly and southerly <br />along the city limits to the north right -o£ -way line of the Northern Indiana <br />Toll Road; thence, continuing along the city limits, westerly along the <br />north right -of -way line of the Northern Indiana Toll Road to the St. Joseph <br />River, southerly and southeasterly along the St. Joseph River to the center <br />line of East Colfax Avenue, the place of beginning. <br />"Second District. Beginning at the intersection of the center line <br />of Western Avenue with Lafayette Boulevard; thence north along the center line <br />of Lafayette Boulevard.to the center line of LaSalle Street; thence west along <br />the center line of LaSalle Street to the center line of Lincolnway West; thence <br />northwesterly along the center line of Lincolnway West to the center line of <br />the north -south alley lying between Elmer and Huey Streets; thence north along <br />the center line of said alley to the center line of Elwood Avenue; thence west <br />along the center line of Elwood Avenue to the center line of Bendix Drive; <br />thence north along the center line of Bendix Drive to the City Limits of South <br />Bend; thence along the city limits in a generally westerly and southerly <br />direction to the center line of Western Avenue; thence east along the center <br />line of Western Avenue to the center line of Olive Street; thence north along <br />the center line of Olive Street to the center line of the Penn Central Rail- <br />road tracks; thence southeasterly along the center line of the Penn Central <br />Railroad tracks to a point where the center line of the alley lying between <br />Warren and Grant Streets would intersect said railroad tracks if extended <br />northward; thence south along the said center line projected to the center <br />line of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad tracks; thence northeasterly along <br />the center line of said railroad tracks to the center line of Chapin Street; <br />thence north along the center line of Chapin Street to the center line of <br />Western Avenue; thence east along the center line of Western Avenue to the <br />
