ORDINANCE NO, <br />5079 -69 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25 -60 OF <br />SECTION 59 OF CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF <br />1949, AS AMENDED <br />INDIANA: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CONUON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />SECTION I. <br />That Section 25 -60 of Section 59 of Chapter 29 of the Code of <br />1949, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: <br />(a) Parking or standing a vehicle in a designated space in a park- <br />ing meter zone shall be lawful for twelve minutes upon deposit of a}- one. <br />cent coin, thirty minutes upon the deposit of one five -cent coin, sixty min- <br />utes upon the deposit of two five -cent coins. All meters over one hour shall <br />be two five -cent coins per hour. It shall be unlawful to remain parked in <br />any such parking space beyond the parking time limit set for such parking <br />space. <br />(b) Such parking meters shall be operated in the parking meter zone <br />between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. an any Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurs- <br />day, Friday and Saturday and between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. on <br />any Monday, except holidays; provided, that within the meaning of this divi- <br />sion, the term "holiday" shall include the following days only: The first <br />day of January, the thirtieth day of May, the Fourth of July, the first Mon- <br />day in September, the twenty -fifth day of December, and the day designated <br />and set aside by the President of the United States as a day of Thanksgiving, <br />SECTION:II, <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on July 1, 1969, <br />after its adoption by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, its ap- <br />proval by the Mayor and publication, as required by law. <br />Member of the Common Council <br />1st & 2nd READING 4 -14 -69 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />PUBLIC HEARING 4 -28 -69 <br />3rd READING 4 -28 -69 <br />NOT APPROVED <br />REFERRED - Ordinance Committee- 4 -14 -69 <br />PASSED 4 -28 -69 <br />FILED IN CLERK'S OFFICE <br />KATHRYN L.
