White At-Large <br /> <br />nd <br />Absent: Henry Davis, Jr. 2 District <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: <br /> <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand Council Attorney <br /> John Voorde City Clerk <br /> Janice Talboom Deputy <br /> <br />ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT FOR 2014 <br /> <br />Councilmember Dr. Fred Ferlic nominated Councilmember Karen White who declined. <br /> <br />Councilmember White nominated Councilmember Oliver J. Davis for the office of President. <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion. The motion carried by a roll call vote of eight (8) <br />ayes. <br /> <br />ELECTION OF COUNCIL VICE-PRESIDENT FOR 2014 <br />Councilmember Gavin Ferlic nominated Councilmember Fred Ferlic for the office of Vice- <br />President. Councilmember Scott seconded the motion. The motion was defeated by a roll call <br />vote of five (5) nays and three (3) ayes (Councilmember’s Scott, Dr. Fred Ferlic and <br />Councilmember Gavin Ferlic.) <br /> <br />Councilmember Oliver J. Davis nominated Councilmember Derek D. Dieter for the office of <br />Vice-President. Councilmember Schey seconded the motion. The motion carried by a roll call <br />vote of six (6) ayes and two (2) nays (Dr. Fred Ferlic and Councilmember Gavin Ferlic.) <br /> <br /> <br />ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE FOR 2014 <br />Councilmember Dieter nominated Councilmember Schey for the office of Chairperson, <br />Committee of the Whole. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion. The motion <br />carried by a roll call vote of five (5) ayes and three (3) nays (Councilmember’s Scott, Dr. Fred <br />Ferlic and Councilmember Gavin Ferlic.) <br /> <br />Councilmember Dr. Fred Ferlic nominated Councilmember Scott for the office of Chairperson <br />Committee of the Whole. Councilmember Gavin Ferlic seconded the motion. The motion was <br />defeated by a roll call vote five (5) nays and three (3) ayes (Councilmembers Scott, Dr. Fred <br />Ferlic and Councilmember Gavin Ferlic.) <br /> <br />REAPPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL ATTORNEY FOR 2014 <br />Councilmember Derek Dieter made a motion to retain Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand as <br />Council Attorney for 2014.
