Near Northwest Neighborhood Signature Events: <br />NNN, Inc. <br />The Near Northwest Neighborhood, Inc. (NNN) was founded in 1974 as a private not - <br />for- profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. NNN, Inc. is a community development <br />corporation (CDC). It is also a member organization and membership is offered to all <br />business and property owners as well as residents. Members are encouraged to <br />participate in activities and committee work Volunteers are a critical part of NNN's <br />success as officers, board members, and committee members are not compensated. <br />The NNN Inc. residential development efforts include the acquisition of housing <br />structures and adjoining lots. After extensive renovations of existing homes and new <br />construction, its homes present a high quality product NNN's affordably priced homes <br />can be purchased using down payment and financial assistance programs. <br />• Annual Meeting — Early each year the NNN holds its Annual Meeting & Breakfast with <br />the Mayor.. This popular and well attended event showcases NNN's accomplishments <br />and provides an opportunity to interact with City officials, community businesses and <br />neighbors. <br />• Adopt -a -Block — Held yearly in conjunction with Earth Day, this annual event is on a <br />Saturday morning in mid - April. This resident driven litter reduction program provides <br />the neighborhood with its yearly spring cleaning. <br />• Chili Supper —This event, held annually in March, is a great way to welcome spring, <br />catch up with friends and meet new neighbors. The NNN Board and neighborhood <br />residents are the "chili makers" for this delicious, fun event <br />• Garden Walk— Held bi- annually in July, the NNN Garden Walk is bursting with color <br />and creativity. Residents prune, coax and sweet talk their flower and vegetable gardens <br />to be at their best Neighborhood green space is also included. <br />• Arts Cafe - Annual event held the first Sunday of November each year. Arts Cafe opens <br />up recently rehabilitated properties to showcase their character. The homes provide a <br />unique backdrop for artists, musicians, and culinary specialists. <br />
