ORDINANCE NO.`� —�� ---- <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $21,000.00 FROM THE PALAIS ROYALE HISTORIC <br />PRESERVATION FUND (FUND 450) FOR REPAIRS TO THE HISTORIC <br />EXTERIORANTERIOR OF THE VENUE. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The Palais Royale Historic Preservation Fund (Fund 450) was established for continuing historic <br />preservation, maintenance, and repair of the Palais Royale, a historic landmark in downtown South Bend <br />listed since 1984 on the National Register of Historic Places, and contiguous to the Morris Performing <br />Arts Center. <br />Pursuant to Ordinance No. 9706 -06, the Palais Royale Historic Preservation Fund shall be used <br />for the sole purpose of assisting with the continued historic preservation, maintenance, and repair of the <br />Palais Royale building and related facilities, and hereby requests those funds to be released to make said <br />repairs to the stone mortar, reseal areas around the exiting windows on the exterior of the building, and <br />repair related damage to the interior wall of the multipurpose room located on the 3r' Floor of the Palais <br />Royale. The amount of $21,000.00 is requested for appropriation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA as follows: <br />Section I. The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and ordered set apart from and <br />within the Palais Royale Historic Preservation Fund for restoration of the historic stone on the exterior of <br />the Palais Royale, specifically around the existing windows, and to repair related interior wall damage <br />caused by water seepage. <br />Account Number Description Amount <br />450 Palais Royale Historic Preservation Fund $21,000.00 <br />Section II.
