QpUTH �� I. 2013 Annual Report of the Community Investment Committee of the South Bend Common Council Date: December 30, 2013 To: The South Bend Common Council The Office of the City Clerk From: Council Member at Large Gavin Ferlic, Chairperson Community Investment Committee This Annual Report is filed as a requirement of Section 2 -10 (i) of the South Bend Municipal Code which calls for a report from the Chairperson of each of the Council's Standing Committee by the 2nd Monday in December. Duties: The Community Investment Committee is charged with the following duties pursuant to Section 2 -10 of the South Bend Municipal Code: "Oversees the various activities of the Department of Community Investment. This Committee reviews all real and personal tax abatement requests. " 2013 Committee Members and Number of Committee Meetings: The member of the Community Investment Committee this year include Henry Davis, Jr. who serves as Vice - Chairperson, Valerie Schey, Dr. Fred Ferlic, with myself as Chairperson. I appointed Janeen Crane and Patrick Mullin this year to serve as a citizen members of this committee. The Community Investment Committee met twenty (20) times this year. Community Investment Committee Meeting Topics: Investment in the City of South Bend and job creation were the primary focal points of the Cl Committee working with the City Administration. Scott Ford, Executive Director of the Community Investment Department was invited to the committee's organizational meeting and highlighted the department's goals and priorities for the committee year.
