January 5, 1971 <br />TO: Members of the Common Council ' <br />RE: Wastewater Treatment Plant Truck Purchases <br />FROM: John L. Hunter, Director pf Utilities <br />Equipment outlined in the attached ordinance was bid through the <br />Board of Public Works and Safety in their city -wide bidding program. <br />The successful bidder on these four units is International Harvester <br />Company. We recommended to the Board of Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />Commissioners on January 4 that we purchase these Four units. Inter- <br />national Harvester is low bidder on the last two items in this ordi- <br />nance and the only bidder on the first item in the ordinance. <br />Item one, a 7500 GVW Model 1210 Travelette Crew Cab Pick Up Truck, <br />will be used to replace Unit No. 207 presently handling the drag <br />machines and crew. Unit 207 will be used in our new Catch Basin <br />Program. <br />The two 5000 GVW Pick Up Trucks will replace Unit No. 219 with mileage <br />of 75,955. This unit is used by our Sewer Department supervisor. He <br />also has the responsibility of replacing sewer and manhole covers. <br />The other unit will be used by our maintenance crew to service our <br />drag machines and other equipment on,the street. <br />The 7000 GVN7 Model 1210 Cab and Chassis replaces Unit No. 203. This <br />unit accumulated 71,817 miles as of August 1, 1970. The new unit will <br />be used for the repair and maintenance of our lift stations and diver- <br />sion chambers. <br />John L.
