EXCERPTS OF THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETINGS FOR ORDINANCE NO. 5234 -70 ORDINANCES FIRST AND SECOND READING, September 14, 1970. The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Zielinski made a motion, seconded by Councilman Craven, that the ordinance be given a public hearing on September 28, 1970. Motion carried. 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 absent. COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING, September 28, 1970. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordi- nance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. City Engineer Lloyd Taylor explained that the funds were needed for the purchase of two automobiles; one of which will be used by Mr. Cecil McHenry who is in charge of weed control and abandoned vehicles; the other being a V -type automobile; a new typewriter for the Engineering Department and radios to be used in cars. He stated the surplus funds in the account L-11 were being transferred to these accounts for the purchase of the items listed, subject to the approval of the Council. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion, seconded by Councilman Palmer, that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Motion carried. 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Grounds). REPORT FROM THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE, September 28, 1970. Council- President Laven entertained a motion to waive the reading of the Committee of the Whole Reports. Councilman Allen so moved. Councilman Zielinski seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. ORDINANCES, THIRD READING, September 28, 1970. ORDINANCE NO. 5234 -70 AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO ACCOUNT L -722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,300.00, TO ACCOUNT L -725, "OFFICE EQUIP- MENT" IN THE SMOUNT OF $600.00 AND TO ACCOUNT L -726, "OTHER EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,100.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUMS FROM ACCOUNT L -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL ", ALL BEING IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AND ALL BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. The Ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Reinke made a motion for passage of the Ordinance. Councilman Craven seconded the motion. There being no discussion on the motion, the Ordinance was passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski) 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Grounds).
