EXCERPTS OF THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETINGS FOR ORDINANCE NO. 5234 -70 <br />ORDINANCES FIRST AND SECOND READING, September 14, 1970. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. <br />Councilman Zielinski made a motion, seconded by Councilman Craven, that the <br />ordinance be given a public hearing on September 28, 1970. Motion carried. <br />9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 absent. <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING, September 28, 1970. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordi- <br />nance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard <br />thereon. City Engineer Lloyd Taylor explained that the funds were needed <br />for the purchase of two automobiles; one of which will be used by Mr. <br />Cecil McHenry who is in charge of weed control and abandoned vehicles; the <br />other being a V -type automobile; a new typewriter for the Engineering <br />Department and radios to be used in cars. He stated the surplus funds in <br />the account L-11 were being transferred to these accounts for the purchase <br />of the items listed, subject to the approval of the Council. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak made a motion, seconded by Councilman Palmer, that the ordinance <br />go to the Council as favorable. Motion carried. 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent <br />(Councilman Grounds). <br />REPORT FROM THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE, September 28, 1970. <br />Council- President Laven entertained a motion to waive the reading of the <br />Committee of the Whole Reports. Councilman Allen so moved. Councilman <br />Zielinski seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCES, THIRD READING, September 28, 1970. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5234 -70 <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO <br />ACCOUNT L -722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $5,300.00, TO ACCOUNT L -725, "OFFICE EQUIP- <br />MENT" IN THE SMOUNT OF $600.00 AND TO ACCOUNT <br />L -726, "OTHER EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$1,100.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUMS FROM <br />ACCOUNT L -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL ", ALL BEING <br />IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AND ALL BEING <br />WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />The Ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Reinke made a motion for <br />passage of the Ordinance. Councilman Craven seconded the motion. There <br />being no discussion on the motion, the Ordinance was passed by a roll call <br />vote of 8 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Szymkowiak, Wise, <br />Palmer and Zielinski) 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Grounds). <br />KATHRYN L.
