W <br />y = Z <br />LL&. <br />y CD Oil ORDINANCE N0. 5231 -70 <br />m <br />5 AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS <br />r N Z 2 FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND IN THE <br />v giY AMOUNT OF $61,799 TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN <br />x Q = W THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND. <br />u <br />W Q <br />.J Y <br />ai U WHEREAS, there was enacted during the 1969 Session of <br />the Indiana General Assembly an Act, Chapter 392 of the Acts of <br />1969, making available to cities, towns and counties for engineer, <br />ing, construction or reconstruction of roads, streets and bridges <br />under local jurisdiction, certain additional funds to be derived <br />from the 7th and 8th cents of Indiana motor fuel tax and fuel use <br />tax and from increases in fees levied under the Motor Vehicle Act; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, an ordinance has been introduced to appropriate <br />these funds, known as the Local Road and Street Fund and <br />WHEREAS, certain projects have been undertaken which <br />qualify for receipt of these additional funds; and <br />WHEREAS, funds have been expended from regularly <br />appropriated MVH accounts for the completion of these projects, <br />thereby depleting these accounts; and <br />WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring the appropria- <br />tion of more money than was appropriated in the annual budget <br />for the various functions of city government to meet such extra- <br />ordinary conditions; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />SECTION I. That for additional expenses incidental to <br />the operation of the Street Department there is hereby appro- <br />priated from the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund to the following: <br />A. Account MVH -252, "Repairs of Equipment" <br />the sum of $2,000. <br />B. Account MVH -313, "Bottled Gas" <br />the sum of $400. <br />C. Account MVH -324, "Other Garage and Motor Supplies" <br />the sum of $1,000. <br />D. <br />Account <br />MVH -37, "Other Supplies" <br />the sum <br />of $4,000.. <br />E. <br />Account <br />MVH -42, "Street and Alley Materials" <br />the sum <br />of $45,899• <br />F. <br />Account <br />MVH -44, "Other Materials" <br />the sum <br />of $8,000. <br />G. <br />Account <br />MVH -52, "Rents" <br />the sum <br />of $500. <br />SECTION II.
