ORDINANCE NO. 5323 -71 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION <br />11 -18, ORDINANCE NUMBERS 3913, 9 7, AND <br />4537 -62,00 3, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR <br />STANDARDS FOR INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL <br />EQUIPMENT GENERALLY <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />SECTION I. That Ordinance Numbers 3913, 9 7, and 4537, <br />9 7, being Section 11 -18 of Chapter 11 of the Municipal Code <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be, and hereby is, amended <br />to read as follows: <br />Standards for Installation of <br />Electrical Equipment Generally <br />All installations of electrical equipment shall be <br />reasonably safe to persons and property and in conformity <br />with the provisions of this chapter and the applicable <br />statutes of the state. <br />Conformity of installations of electrical equipment <br />with this chapter and with applicable regulations set <br />forth in the National Electrical Code of 1968 or electrical <br />provisions of other safety codes which have been approved <br />by the American Standards Association, shall be prima facie <br />evidence that such installations are reasonably safe to persons <br />and property. <br />The electrical inspector shall permit trial installations <br />of new methods of installing electrical equipment. <br />SECTION II_ This ordinance shall be in full force and effect <br />from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval <br />by the Mayor and publication as required by law. <br />i <br />Member of the Common Council <br />FILED IN CLERK'S OFFICE <br />1st & 2nd READING J JUL 121971 <br />- �:.- <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE KATHRYN L.
