Trans. Funds - Morris Civic Aud.
<br />WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed
<br />since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now
<br />necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the
<br />annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet
<br />such extraordinary conditions; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Morris Civic Auditorium is heated by steam
<br />heat provided by the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company; and
<br />WHEREAS, steam heat rates were substantially increased
<br />after the adoption of the 1971 budget for Morris Civic Auditorium
<br />and additional funds are needed to pay the heating bills, and to
<br />assure the department's ability to properly perform its functions;
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is
<br />not presently needed and more specifically as follows; to -wit:
<br />$5,000.00 in Account E -11, "Services Personal ".
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of
<br />the City of -South Bend, Indiana:
<br />SECTION I. That the sum of $5,000.00 be transferred
<br />from Account E -11, "Services Personal ", and transferred and appropri-
<br />ated to Account K -223, "Heat ", both accounts being within the General
<br />Fund.
<br />SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and
<br />effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its
<br />approval by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory require-
<br />ments for emergency appropriations.
