ORDINANCE NO. 5201 -70 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 11 -18, ORDINANCE NUMBERS 3913, 0 7, AND 4537 -62, 9 3, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR STANDARDS FOR INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT GENERALLY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That Ordinance Numbers 39133 D 7, and 4537, H 7, being Section 11 -18 of Chapter 11 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be, and hereby is, amended to read as follows: Standards for Installation of Electrical quipment Generally All installations of electrical equipment shall be reasonably safe to persons and property and in conformity with the provisions of this chapter and the applicable statutes of the state. Conformity of installations of electrical equipment with this chapter and with applicable regulations set forth in the National Electrical Code of 1968 and all amendments thereafter, or electrical provisions of other safety codes which have been approved by the American Standards Association, shall be prima facie evidence that such installations are reasonably safe to persons and property. The electrical inspector shall permit trial instal- lations of new methods of installing electrical equip- ment. SECTION II.
