EXCERPTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS FOR ORDINANCE NO. 5261 -71 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING METER FEES AND FUNDS FOR THE YEAR 1971 TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES SET FORTH THEREIN, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 208 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF INDIANA OF 1965. Ordinances, First and Second Reading, January, 11, 1971 The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Reinke made a motion, seconded by Councilman Palmer, for sus- pension of the rules. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski) 0 nays, 0 absent. A public hearing on the ordi- nance was held at this time and proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. City Controller James A. Bickel explained the appropriation. He said it was the same ordinance as passed a year ago and that the salaries are in accordance with the Salaries adopted for 1971. This amount will pay for the cost of maintenance, operation, repair and all other incidental costs and expenses in the operation of mechanical parking devices for the year 1971. The Clerk proceeded with the third reading of the ordinance. Councilman Zielinski made a motion, seconded by Councilman Reinke, for passage of the ordinance. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski. / KATHRYN L. LOUGH, CITY CLE
