EXCERPTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS FOR ORDINANCE NO. 5261 -71 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING METER <br />FEES AND FUNDS FOR THE YEAR 1971 TO THE BOARD <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CIVIL CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES <br />SET FORTH THEREIN, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER <br />208 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE <br />STATE OF INDIANA OF 1965. <br />Ordinances, First and Second Reading, January, 11, 1971 <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. <br />Councilman Reinke made a motion, seconded by Councilman Palmer, for sus- <br />pension of the rules. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, <br />(Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise, <br />Palmer and Zielinski) 0 nays, 0 absent. A public hearing on the ordi- <br />nance was held at this time and proponents and opponents were given an <br />opportunity to be heard thereon. City Controller James A. Bickel explained <br />the appropriation. He said it was the same ordinance as passed a year <br />ago and that the salaries are in accordance with the Salaries adopted for <br />1971. This amount will pay for the cost of maintenance, operation, repair <br />and all other incidental costs and expenses in the operation of mechanical <br />parking devices for the year 1971. The Clerk proceeded with the third <br />reading of the ordinance. Councilman Zielinski made a motion, seconded <br />by Councilman Reinke, for passage of the ordinance. The ordinance passed <br />by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, <br />Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski. <br />/ <br />KATHRYN L.
