Appropriating $5,768.45 Motor Vehicle Highway Fund to Street and Alley Materials

ORDINANCE NO. 5250 -70 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $5768.45 FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND TO ACCOUNT MVH -42, "STREET AND ALLEY MATERIALS ". WHEREAS, funds have been expended from a regularly appropriated MVH account for the completion of projects which have qualified under the Local Road and Street Program, thereby depleting this account; and WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring the appropria- tion of more money than was appropriated in the annual budget to cover the cost of certain street construction projects, and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund in excess of $5768.45, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That to provide additional funds for the purchasing of street and alley m��e ials, there is hereby appropriated from the Motor VehiNO Fund to the following: Account MVH -42, "Street and Alley Materials" the sum of $5768.45. SECTION II.
