ORDINANCE NO. 5392 -72 <br />An Ordinance Fixing the Annual Salaries, for <br />Certain Personnel of the Engineering Depart- <br />ment of the City, and Appropriating the Monies <br />Therefor, and for Other Related Purposes. <br />Purpose and Intent <br />The Engineering Department of the City hired an engineer <br />and three (3) engineer aides effective March 1, 1972. Said per- <br />sonnel were hired pursuant to an agreement between the Board of <br />Public Works and Safety and the South Bend Department of Redevelop- <br />ment, whereby the Engineering Department of the City shall provide <br />engineering services to the Department of Redevelopment and the <br />Department of Redevelopment shall pay to said Board the approximate <br />sum of $43,500. for the year 1972, which sum is to be covered into <br />the General Fund of the Treasury of the Citv to cover the costs of <br />such engineering services. <br />This Ordinance appropriates to the Engineering Department <br />of the City the monies necessary to pay the salaries and the other <br />expenses incidental to the above - referenced agreement. The monies <br />for such salary and other expenses shall come from the monies cov- <br />ered into the General Fund pursuant to the contract referred to <br />above. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION 1. The annual budget for the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, is hereby amended as follows, and the following <br />sums of money are hereby appropriated and ordered set <br />apart from the General Fund for the following purposes: <br />Office of Controller <br />Current Obligations <br />B -62,63 & 64 Incidental salary costs (22 %) <br />for March thru Dec. 31, 1972 <br />$6,800.00 <br />L - 11 Engineer <br />Total for Office of Controller $ 6,800.00 <br />Engineering Department <br />1 at $10,017.per annum <br />from March 1 thru Dec.31,1972. <br />$8,347.50 <br />Engineering Aid III 3 at $q,000. per annum <br />from March 1 thru Dec. 31,1972 <br />$22,500.00 <br />L -213 Traveling Rxnense <br />L -726 Other Equipment <br />1,500.00 <br />3,000.00 <br />Total for Engineering Department <br />$35,347.50 <br />TOTAL APPROPRIATION <br />$42,147.50 <br />
