PUBLIC WORKS & PROPERTY VACATION NOVEMBER 25.2013 4:40 P.M. <br />Committee Members Present: Oliver Davis, Valerie Schey, Dr. David Varner, Gavin Ferlic <br />Other Council Present: Tim Scott (AB), Henry Davis, Dr. Fred Ferlic, Karen White, Derek <br />Dieter <br />Citizen Members Present: Vacant <br />Others Present: Kathryn Roos, Eric Horvath, Mark Neal, John Murphy, Kathy <br />Cekanski- Farrand, Erin Blasko <br />Agenda: Eric Horvath — Update Sample / Olive Overpass <br />At the request of 6th district Councilman and Public Works and Property Vacation Chair Oliver Davis, the <br />Director of Public Works Eric Horvath gave an update on the status of the Olive /Sample Overpass. <br />Eric distributed two handouts to Council (attached). One outlined projected costs, the other projected <br />timetable. He explained the advantage of a joint project working with St Joseph County on this project <br />estimated to cost $ 14 million dollars. The County, legally responsible for bridges would pay for the <br />overpass itself. The approaches would be paid by the City at a total cost of $ 4.6 million dollars split <br />evenly between the County and City. The balance nearly $ 10 million dollars, would be federal dollars. <br />Design begun in early 2013 would lead to construction completion by the end of the 1't quarter in 2015. <br />After answering clarifying questions from Councilmembers Eric promised to address the repair and <br />upgrade of Olive St. from the south approach of the overpass going south to Indiana 23. <br />Oliver avi pdjour d e meeting at 4:56 P.M. <br />Vacation <br />
