PERSONNEL & FINANCE OCTOBER 30.2013 6:00 P.M. <br />Committee Members Present: Dr. David Varner, Valerie Schey, Karen White, Henry Davis <br />Other Council Present: Tim Scott, Dr. Ferlic, Oliver Davis, Gavin Ferlic, Derek Dieter, Dr. <br />Fred Feriic <br />Citizen Members Present: Marc Brammer, Jack Smith <br />Others Present: Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Kathryn Roos, John Murphy, Mark Neal, <br />Cecil Eastman, Rahman Johnson, Erin Blasko <br />Agenda: Discussion of Bills 45 -13, 46 -13, 53 -13, 54 -13 <br />* *Due to recovery from a medical procedure performed earlier in the day the City Clerk was not present <br />to take minutes. However based upon votes requested at the 7:00 P.M. regular Council Meeting, <br />the discussions can be summarized as follows. <br />Bill # 44 -13 <br />This bill sets the tax rate for 2014 at a rate felt necessary to meet city expenses. While on the agenda, <br />this bill had actually been passed unanimously on October 28, 2013. <br />Bill # 45 -13 <br />This appropriation bill meant to defray the expenses of the non - utility departments of the City was <br />passed by a vote of 8 -1. Valerie Schey voted against the bill. <br />Bill # 53 -13 <br />This bill fixed maximum salaries of an appointed officers and non - bargaining employees for 2014. This <br />controversial proposal was modified by the Council. The final pay schedule (attached) was passed by a <br />vote of 6 -3. Tim Scott, Karen White and Dr. Fred Ferlic voted against. <br />Bill # 54 -13 <br />This bill fixed the maximum wages of Teamster employees for 2014. It was passed by a 9 -0 vote. <br />* *The 6:00 meeting was recorded and that AV recording is available upon request from the City Clerk's <br />Office. <br />
