E. <br />Director, Public Works <br />Members of the Common Council <br />441 County /City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Gentlemen: <br />Reply To: Department <br />of Public Works <br />June 18, 1974 <br />On June 24 an ordinance appropriating the sum of $16,300 from the Cumulative <br />Capital Improvement Fund, and the sum of $146,700 from the Local Roads and <br />Streets Fund, will be presented for your consideration. These monies will <br />be appropriated to project R & S 61, Michigan Street -Main Street Connector. <br />This money is being appropriated specifically for the purchase of right -of- <br />way needed for this project (Turner Property). To refresh your memory, <br />last year you appropriated $20,000 to accomplish the design phase of this <br />project. <br />We are presently at a point where there must be a decision made on the <br />right -of -way in order to complete the final design and get the project <br />ready for construction phase. <br />In giving you affirmative consideration to this request, I feel that we <br />will not be placed in the same situation as was the case with Michigan, <br />Main and Chippewa. <br />If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. <br />Very truly yours, <br />llvj.o� P. uo-_-'� <br />Michael L.
