ORDINANCE NO. 5674 -74 <br />ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM <br />THE GENERAL PARK FUND TO ACCOUNT 730.0, PRO- <br />PERTIES, LAND IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000 00 <br />WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since <br />the adoption of the existing annual budget so it is now necessary to appropri- <br />ate money from the General Park Fund to the annual budget for various functions <br />of the Department of Public Parks to meet such extraordinary emergency, <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Parks is desirous in acquiring a <br />tract of land bounded by the first alley west of Carroll Street, the first alley <br />south of Paris Street, the first alley east of Michigan Street and the first <br />alley north of Elder Street containing approximately eight acres located in the <br />southeast section of the City of South Bend and <br />WHEREAS, at the time of the preparation of the 1974 park budget no <br />funds were appropriated in the land account #730.0, and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Parks realizes the need for open <br />space in the above mentioned site. <br />Section I. Now therefore, be it ordained, by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana that for the expenses of City Government and <br />its institutions for the year ending December 31, 1974, the following items be <br />appropriated and set apart out of funds herein named for the purposes herein <br />specified subject to the laws governing the same and such sum herein appropri- <br />ated shall included all expenditures authorized to be made during the year unless <br />otherwise expressly stipulated by law. <br />Section II. That for said fiscal year there is hereby appropriated <br />out of the General Park Fund $40,000.00 <br />Section III. That the Account #730.0, Land, be increased $40,000.00 <br />It is therefore ordained by the COMMOn Council that the said General Park Fund <br />be reduced in the said total of $40,000.00 and that account numbered 730.0, <br />Land, be increased $40,000.00 <br />
