REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 14, 2013 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />th <br />Mark Neal, City Controller, 12 Floor County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South <br />Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br /> <br />Mr. Neal advised that the substitute bill affirms all the pay rates established in the 2012 <br />Ordinance No. 10200-12 for members of the Fire Department’s collective bargaining unit. The <br />only change to that ordinance is the 2014 pay rate for the Fire Chief which has been increased <br />from $84,610.00 under the prior ordinance to $92,250.00. This increase was to achieve parity <br />with the 2014 salary of the South Bend Police Chief. <br /> <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to <br />this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council <br />concerning this bill as substituted. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which <br />carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 49-13 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 16, <br /> ARTICLES 2 AND 4 OF THE SOUTH BEND <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT PLASTIC <br /> BAGS FOR YARD WASTE <br /> <br />Councilmember Dieter made a motion to continue this bill until the November 11, 2013 meeting <br />of the Council.
