ORDINANCE NO. 5 7 3 / - ,? �l AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $25, 000. 00 FROM GENERAL REVENUE OF THE WATER WORKS OF SOUTH BEND TO THE OPER- ATION AND MAINTENANCE FUND. WHEREAS, as a part of the Water Works system in the City of South Bend there exists stop boxes that are established for the turn -off of water service lines to individual customers; and, WHEREAS, there are approximately 500 stop boxes in the City of South Bend that are inoperable; and, WHEREAS, inoperable stop boxes prevent the turn off of water service lines to the individual customers; and, WHEREAS, there exists within the Water Works budget a fund designated as Operation and Maintenance within which is established Line Items 261 - 1 °Outside Contractor "; and, WHEREAS, the repairs are contracted with private plumbers; and, WHEREAS, the sum of $25, 000. 00 is now needed to contract for the repair of the inoperable stop boxes and tR maintain a progran of continued operable stop boxes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I. That the sum of $25, 000. 00 be appropriated to the Operation and Maintenance Fund. Line Items 261 - 11Outside Countractor" SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements.
