ORDINANCE NO. 5798 -75 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL SALARIES, PAYABLE FROM THE GENERAL FUND, FOR OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO BE ELECTED FOR THE TERM COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1976, AND FIXING THE TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That the following annual salaries, payable from the General Fund, are hereby fixed for the following elected officers of the City of South Bend, Indiana, effective for the elective term commencing January 1, 1976, and continuing during the years of their elective terms of office: Mayor: (each): For the calendar year For the calendar year 1976 $29,000 For the calendar year 1977 30,500 For the calendar year 1978 32,000 For the calendar year 1979 33,500 City Clerk: For the calendar year 1976 $11,500 For the calendar year 1977 12,000 For the calendar year 1978 12,500 For the calendar year 1979 13,000 Members of the Common Council (each): For the calendar year 1976 $ 5,500 For the calendar year 1977 6,000 For the calendar year 1978 6,500 For the calendar year 1979 7,000 SECTION II. The Clerk is ordered and directed to publish this ordinance twice in a newspaper of general circula- tion in the English language, in this city, the first of which publications shall be at least 30 days prior to the date of the passage of this ordinance. SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in full force from and after i— t enactment, passage and signature of the Mayor. Passed January 27, 1975, as amended.
