ORDINANCE NO. S 7 7 S - -7 `/ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1, SECTION 4, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, PERTAINING TO THE DESIGNATION OF COUNCILMANIC DISTRICTS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION 1. Section 4 of Chapter 1 of the Municipal Code of the S City outh Bend, Indiana, is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows: (a) The City is hereby divided into six (6) Councilmanic Districts which shall be known as: First District, Second District, Third District, Fourth District, Fifth District and Sixth District. Such districts are bounded as follows: (1) First District. Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Colfax Avenue and the center line of William Street in the City of South Bend, Indiana; thence north along the center line of William Street to the intersection of the center line of Lincoln Way West; thence northwesterly along the center line of Lincoln Way West to the intersection of the center line of Elmer Street; thence north along the center line of Elmer Street to the center line of Elwood Avenue; thence west along the center line of Elwood Avenue to the center line of Bendix Drive; thence north along the center line of Bendix Drive to the center line of Lathrop Street (Douglas Road); thence west along the center line of Lathrop Street (Douglas Road) to the west line of Section 28, Twp. 38 North, Range 2 East, German Twp., St. Joseph County, Indiana; thence north along the west line of said Section 28 to the center line of Cleveland Road; thence north along the west line of Section 21, Twp. 38 North, Range 2 East, German Twp., St. Joseph County, Indiana, to the south right -of -way line of the Indiana East West Toll Road; thence in a southeasterly and easterly direction along the south right -of -way line of said Toll Road to a point 750 feet more or less east of the west line of Section 26, Twp. 38 North, Range 2 East; thence due north to the north line of said Section 26; thence along the present city limits line to a point in the south right -of -way line of Brick Road; thence in an easterly and southerly direction along the present city limits to a point in the north right -of -way line of the Indiana East and West Toll Road; thence west along the north right -of -way line of said Toll Road to the center of the St. Joseph River; thence in a southerly direction along the center line of the St. Joseph River to a point of intersection with the center line of Colfax Avenue; thence west along the center line of Colfax Avenue to the center line of William Street, the place of beginning. (2) Second District. Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Western Avenue and William Street in the City of South Bend, Indiana; thence north along the center line of William Street to the intersection with the center line of Lincoln Way West; thence northwesterly along the center line of Lincoln Way West to the intersection with the center line of Elmer Street; thence north along the center line of Elmer Street to the intersection with the center line of Elwood Avenue; thence west along the center line of Elwood Avenue to the intersection with the center line of Bendix Drive (Maple Road); thence north along the center line of Bendix Drive (Maple Road) to a point approximately 1,700 feet more or less south of the intersection of Lathrop Street (Douglas Road) and Bendix Drive (Maple Road); thence westerly and southerly along the present city limits line to the intersection of the center line of Mayflower Road (State Road 123) with the
