If approved, this money based on present <br />costs will allow the city to let demolition contracts on about <br />forty -eight structures which are presently in some phase of the <br />legal process which leads to the demolition of a structure. We <br />would, in emergencies, use a small portion of this money to board <br />up condemned structures which cannot yet be demolished. <br />Whereas the city also has some Community Development funds for <br />demolition, which can be used in target areas, this additional <br />money will allow the city to direct its attention to those prob- <br />lems which are not in target areas. <br />Your favorable consideration of this ordinance will be appreciated. <br />
