CITY of
PETER
SOUTH
J. NEMETH,
BEND
Mayor
COUNTY-CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601
SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
701 W. Sample Street
South Send, Indiana 46621
Michael C. Borkowski
Chief of Police
The Common Council
City of South Bend
county-City Building
South Bend, Indiana 46601
SUBJECT: Budget Transfer
Dear Members:
20 July 1976
';%LUT/046
2
U-1
#VDIAO'
219/284-9311
The 262 (Medical) account of the Bureau of Police is rapidly being depleted. A
transfer of funds is being requested to at least begin to take care of this problem.
There will be a surplus in the 110 (Services Personal) account sufficient to begin
paying some of the bills that are anticipated. The untimely and cruel act that Cpl.
Maurice Woods suffered injuries from on July 10, 1976 will likely cause expenses much
greater than requested at this time. However, for the present, a transfer of $10,000.
from 110 to 262 will help until a more realistic projection of bills can be made.
Even without the unfortunate circumstances of Cpl. Woods a transfer was going
to be required to get through 1976.
your swift action is sought in passage of an ordinance granting the transfer
requested.
Respectfully submitted,
Michael c. Borkowski
Chief of Police
South Bend Bureau of Police
MCB:prf
