Department of Public Parks <br />Administration Building <br />St. Louis Boulevard at Wayne Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46617 <br />PHONE: (219) 284 -9401 <br />February 22, 1977 <br />Mr. Roger Parent, President <br />South Bend Common Council <br />County -City Building <br />227 West Jefferson Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Mr. Parent: <br />The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to approve <br />the enclosed ordinance appropriating $75,000.00 from the General Park Fund <br />to account 722.0, Motor Equipment. <br />According to the Deputy City Controller, the Park Department received more <br />money from various tax funds then was anticipated in the 1976 budget compu- <br />tation, thus, leaving a surplus of about $150,000.00 in the General Park <br />Fund. Since the entire motor equipment account #722.0 was deleted from the <br />1977 budget, during budget hearings, the Park Department is now in need of <br />purchasing motor equipment and a new high ranger. <br />The following list of motor equipment was budgeted in the 1977 budget and <br />is needed for the operation of the department: <br />1 k ton Van w /trade in of 1972 Ford Van, k ton <br />1 3/4 ton pickup truck w /trade in of 1969 3/4 <br />ton Chevrolet pickup <br />1 3/4 ton pickup truck, 4 wheel drive w /plow & <br />lights w /trade in of 1969 Ford Bronko, i ton <br />pickup, 4 wheel drive w /plow & lights <br />1 z ton pickup truck w /trade in of 1971 12 ton <br />International pickup <br />1 i ton pickup truck w /trade in of 1971 'z ton <br />International pickup <br />1 70" Triplex tee mower w /hydraulic system <br />$4,600.00 <br />4,500.00 <br />2,760.00 <br />4,000.00 <br />4,000.00 <br />2,500.00 <br />
