ORDINANCE N0. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 GENERALLY KNOWN AS THE ELECTRICAL CODE, REGULATING THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS, FITTINGS, DEVICES, APPLIANCES AND FIXTURES WITHIN OR ON PRIVATE AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND PREMISES; PROVIDING FOR LICENSES, PERMITS, UNDERGROUND CONDUITS AND PENALTIES. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The purpose and intent of this Ordinance is to provide for the protection of life, public safety and real and personal property in the design and installation of electrical equipment or devices, and to update the section of the Municipal Code of South Bend, Indiana dealing with electrical matters into conformity with the National Electrical Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Chapter 8, Article 1, Section 8 -1(a) of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend is amended as follows: (a) The National Electrical Code e€ 19417 1975 Edition, adopted by the National Fire Protection Association, and all amendments and supplements thereto is adopted and by this reference made a part of this Chapter as though set out in full herein with such exceptions, changes, additions or deletions as are specified in this Chapter. SECTION II.
