ORDINANCE NO. 6154 -77 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU <br />OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND <br />(1) GATES CHEVROLET CORP., SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND <br />(2) INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO., SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE <br />TOTAL AMOUNT OF $29,699.29. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />To approve the purchase of motor vehicles as purchase of <br />same is required in the operation of the Bureau of Water. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. That the Contract entered into between the <br />Bureau of Water of South Bend, Indiana, and (1) Gates Chevrolet <br />Corp., South Bend, Indiana, and (2) International Harvester Co., <br />South Bend, Indiana, on the 18th day of April, 1977, pursuant to <br />advertising and receipt of bids, in a total quantity and a total <br />cost not to exceed the quantity and cost itemized for each classifi- <br />cation in the amount of $29,699.29, is hereby approved and confirmed: <br />1. GATES CHEVROLET CORP. <br />2 - 1977 z Ton Fleetside Pickups <br />1 - 1977 3/4 Ton Van <br />1 - 1977 3/4 Ton Cab & Chassis <br />2. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. <br />1 - 1977 Conventional Cab <br />with tilt hood <br />$ 5,901.48 <br />4,547.59 <br />3,260.00 <br />$15,990.22 <br />TOTAL <br />$13,709.07 <br />$15,990.22 <br />$29,699.29 <br />SECTION II.
