As in other communications concerning the whole Century Center complex, we feel this funding is essential to develop and get the Center off to a successful start. This request for operation monies in the amount of $300,048.00 is basically a request for salaries of $94,702.00, which include about four additional people whose duties are directly related to the physical operation of the buildings; electrical power ($125,000) for the lighting, etc., $2,000.00 for travel, and about $1,200.00 for contractual maintenance of equipment, and $23,500 for programs and Century Center promotion. The balance of the budget is intended for those costs normally associated with the operation of a business. The proposed budget has been reviewed and passed by the Board of Managers and the administration concurrs that this is what is needed to start the center correctly. I'm requesting the use of revenue sharing funds to get this operation off the ground, and would hope that in future years generated revenues will absorb some of the costs.
