SOUTH BEND SOLID WASTE <br />BUDGET EXPLANATION <br />1977 <br />110 Salaries - Wages <br />All regular salaries and wages are listed under 110 Salaries and Wages Regular. <br />Last year the hourly employees were listed under 120 Salaries and Wages Temporary. <br />The only change in personnel is one truck driver being moved up to Job Leader. <br />This man will fill in for the Bureau Manager when he is on vacation or ill. He <br />will assist him in training and assigning routes. <br />130 Other Compensation <br />This money is for the overtime and holidays worked by the employees. <br />252 Equipment Repair <br />Increase $1,000. Prices of repairs are rising and the equipment is getting older. <br />260 Other Contractuals <br />No change. Use to reimburse Water Works for billing. <br />262 Landfill <br />Up $5,000. The first quarter of 1977 $10,000 was used. <br />263 Uniforms <br />Inflationary increase of $250. <br />321 Gasoline <br />Increase ten percent (10 %). $2,500 President Carter's proposal. <br />323 Tires and Tubes <br />Increase of $500. Our trucks do quite a bit of driving down alleys where there <br />is a greater chance on cutting a tire on glass or a puncture from a nail. <br />324 Other Garage and Motor <br />Increase 10 %. We are asking for $8,800 in 1978 since costs are going up and our <br />fleet is aging. <br />363 Other Office Supplies <br />Increase $100. We can not operate the office on $100 a year. <br />370 Other Supplies <br />No Change <br />
