G; q4 -9 2 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $218,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL PUBLIC WORKS GRANT FUND FOR THE CONSTRUC- TION OF A LANDSCAPED, LIGHTED SURFACE PARKING FACILITY AND ACCESS AND SERVICE DRIVES, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: The Century Center Complex is a key element in the City's continuing effort to revitalize and redevelop South Bend's Central Business District as a vital and viable multi -use center for the region. To make the Century Center complex a more attractive and accessible to the general public, the City of South Bend is proposing the construction of a lighted and landscaped surface parking facility with access and service drives. In order to proceed with the construction of the proposed project additional funds are required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I: The sum of $218,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year of 1977, from the Local Public Works Grant Fund.
