Department of Public Parks <br />Administration Building <br />St. Louis Boulevard at Wayne Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46617 <br />PHONE: (219) 284 -9401 <br />July 6, 1977 <br />Mr. Roger Parent, President <br />South Bend Common Council <br />227 West Jefferson Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Dear Mr. Parent: <br />The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to <br />approve the enclosed ordinance in the amount of $25,000.00 for a <br />perimeter fence at Pulaski Park. <br />Pulaski Park is bounded by railroad tracks on the north and south <br />which is an attractive hazard for small children using the park. <br />The park has become extremely popular for the residents of the <br />neighborhood and many small children visit the park everyday. Their <br />safety is the Park Department's concern. <br />Hopefully, the fenced -in park will reduce the vandalism that has <br />been occurring at the park. <br />The fence request for the Pulaski Park was submitted to the Park <br />Board by the Mexican American Council, Inc. and the Programa <br />Juvenil del Barrio (a neighborhood youth organization). <br />Very truly yours, <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLI PARKS <br />X m es R.
