REGULAR_ MEETING <br />AUGUST 12 1957 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Regular Session in the Council <br />Chambers, Monday, August 12th, 1957, at 8:21 P.M., C.D.S.T., with all members present except Councilmen Carr and Erler <br />The meeting was called to order by President Stanley C. Korpal, who presided. <br />TNnT T rAT.T.. <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Korpal,,Tellson, Christman, Kroll, G1ass,Hahn and Muszynski. <br />ABSENT: Councilmen Carr and Erler. <br />MINUTES: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected <br />the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION: <br />The Clerk read,a communication from Mrs. Consuelo L. Opelt, 601 South Thirtieth Street, South Bend, Indiana, relative <br />to the -water situation in her home. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion.that the communication be accepted and placed on file.. Councilman Muszynski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION`:.., <br />Petition of Standard Oil Company and Charles and Lois Drukten to rezone part of Lot No. 7 in A. H. Cushing Addition. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Muszynski <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION: <br />Petition of Associates Investment Company to rezone land at Esther and Ruskin Streets. <br />Councilman Christman made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Glass <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT FROM HEALTH DEPARTMENT: <br />Relative to a complaint that garbage was being burned in the 200 Block of South St. Peter Street, The Board of Health <br />reported that the residents of'the entire block had been advised on disposal of garbage and trash and that they are now <br />complying with the City Ordinance. <br />Relative to a complaint that there were a large number of hornets in the 2500 Block of South Gertrude Street, the <br />Board of Health reported that the hornets have been exterminated by Sgt. Podell with the assistance of the South Bend <br />Exterminating Company. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded the mot <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION: <br />The Honorable Common Council 7 August 1957 <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of Moose Lodge #58 to zone from "A" Residential to "B" Residential lots at the ' northeast corner <br />of Lincoln Way West and Maplewood Avenue, and 2 lots on the west side of Knoblock Street north of Lincoln Way West, <br />was legally advertised on 1 July 1957 and given public hearing under date of 11 July 1957.
