<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council
<br />Chambers on Monday, July29, 1957, at 8:05 P.M., C.D.S.T., with all members present except Councilmen.Carr and Erler.
<br />CALL FOR A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />WE, the undersigned members of the Common Council, hereby call a Special Meeting of the Common Council of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, to convene at the Council Chambers at the City Hall at 8:00 P.M., on the 29th day of July, 1957,
<br />for the purpose of considering the following:
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL
<br />BUDGET - OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL
<br />YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1958, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1958, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS,
<br />FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS
<br />OTHER THAN THE GENERAL FUNDS, OF SAID CITY, TO -WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK DEPARTMENTS
<br />FIREMEN'S PENSION AND'PQLICEMEN'S.PENSION. `FUNDS ,AND`THE CITY PLAN 'AND URBAN REDEVELOPMENT
<br />COMMISSIONS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND
<br />OBLIGATIONS; FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES, REPEALING ALL
<br />ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME
<br />SHALL TAKE EFFECT.
<br />ALSO
<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1958 FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on
<br />each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

<br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Call for a Special Meeting be accepted and placed on file. Councilman
<br />Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />ORDINANCE
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET - OPERATED

<br />SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIOWS FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY
<br />OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
<br />PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilmaa Muszynski made a motion that t
<br />Ordinance be advertised on August 2nd and August 9th, for public Hearing in the Committee of the Whole on August
<br />26th, 1957. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />ORDINANCE
<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1958 FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Tellson made a motion that the
<br />Ordinance be advertised on August 2nd and August 9th, for public hearing in the Committee of the Whole on August 26th,
<br />1957. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Kroll
<br />seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Special meeting adjourned at 8 :19 P.M.
