Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF ORDINANCE COMMITTEE: <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on Ordinances to whom was referred An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 3702 as amended, which ordinance <br />is commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana (Seven Parcels of land on Lincoln Way <br />West), Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion it should be held in Committee <br />until the Attorney representing the petitioners returnsto town. <br />Isl George W. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF ORDINANCE COMMITTEE: <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on Ordinances to whom was referred An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3702 commonly known as the <br />zoning ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana (real estate involved located on the South side of McKinley <br />Highway and East of Manchester Driae continued across McKinley), Respectfully report that they have examined the <br />matter and that'in their opinion It is still in committee for further study. <br />Is/ George W. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. <br />Motion.carried. <br />REPORT FROM CITY ENGINEER: <br />The City Engineer, Mr. Andrysiak, made a report on the complaint about the water which was referred to the Board of <br />Water Works Commissioners. Mr. Andrysiak stated that the extremely hot weather, which necessitated the usage of <br />large amounts ofewater� have, in part, correcte& the situation. He suggested, also, that in sections of the City <br />where the situation existed, it could be remedied by residents turning on the water taps the first thing in the <br />morning to drain the pipes of water which had lain in then' all night. Mr. Andrysiak stressed the fact that samples <br />of water are taken from each pumping station daily and tested by the South Bend Medical Foundation and that a weekly <br />test is made by the Indiana State Board of Health to make sure the water is pure.. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file.
