COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING MAY 28 TH, 1956 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />meeting in the Council Chamber, Monday, May 28th, 1956, at 8:16 P.M., (C.D.S.T.), with all members present. Council- <br />man Carr, Chairman, presided, and welcomed Councilman Hahn back to the Council. Councilman Hahn has been absent for <br />several months due to illness. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4094 <br />"An Ordinance amending Ordinance 3702 Commonly known as the zoning ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana." <br />(Main and Sherwood Streets - -Walt) <br />Proponents and opponents were heard on the above ordinance. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Korpal seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE -NO. 4095 <br />"An Ordinance amending Ordinance #3702 Adopted by the Common Council on the 13th day of June, 1949." (Lots 52, 53, <br />54, 55 - Bimm and Moore's Addition -- Morey) <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on the above ordinance. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4096 <br />"An Ordinance Entitled and Ordinance to regulate the production, transportation, processing, handling, sampling, ex- <br />amination, grading, labeling, regrading, and sale of milk and milk products; theinspection of dairy herds, dairies, <br />and milk plants; the issuing and revocation of permits to milk producers, milk haulers, and distributors; permit <br />fees; appointment of inspectors and sanitary police; repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict <br />herewith and fi %ing penalties." <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hahn seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4097 <br />"An Ordinance authorizing the transfer and conveyance of vacant property on Northside Boulevard owned by the City of <br />South Bend for the use of its Park Department to the Board of Trustees of Indiana University, in accordance with the <br />Acts of the General A8sembly of the State of Indiana, of 1951, Chap. 72." <br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4098 <br />"An Ordinance Appropriating from the General Fund $3,040.00 to Fire Department Q -73 (SE Fire Station) $1,000.00; to <br />Board of Health W -11 Assistant Clerk $1,700.00; to Office of City Judge E -363 Other Office Supplies (Law Books) <br />$340.00, all of the Budget for the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, for 1956 and Declaring an extraordinary emer- <br />gency." Motion by Councilman Korpal, seconded by Councilman Muszynski, to amend the ordinance to $2,740.00 from the <br />General Fund instead of $3,040.00 and reduce Asst. Clerk Board of Health W -11 to $1,400.00, for the reason that <br />Dr. F. R. Nicholas Carter, Secretary of the Board of Health, stated that since time has elapsed since the Ordinance <br />was presented, it would be necessary to cut the amount requested and that $1,400.00 would be sufficient for salary <br />for an Assistant Clerk. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Korpal made a motion to adjourn, which <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Kroll.
