REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 12TH, 1955 <br />The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,met in the Council Chamber on the 12th day of December, <br />1955, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., in regular session in accordance with the rules of the Council. <br />The meeting was called to order by President, Walter C. Erler, Sr., who presided. <br />Present: Councilmen Walter C. Erler, Stanley Korpal, <br />Michael Pinter, Cloyd Bestle, Clem Niezgodski, <br />William Hahn and Chester Muszynski. <br />Absent: Walter Glass. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have <br />inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />Petition.of Standard Oil Company to rezone& certain parcel of land located in the City of South Bend, described <br />as follows, to -wit: All of Lot Numbered Eight (8) as shown on the Recorded Plat of A. H. Cushing Addition to <br />the City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph „ State of Indiana, and a strip of land thirpy -thre6 feet and six <br />inches (3316 ") north and south taken off of and from the entire west side of Lot Numbered Seven (7) as shown <br />on the'Recorded Plat of A. H. Cushing Addition to the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, <br />from "B" Residence District and "B" Height and Area District to "C" Commercial District and "C" Height and <br />Area District. <br />Councilman Korpal moved that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Hahn seconded the <br />motion. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF ORDINANCE COMMITTEE <br />To the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />December 12th, 1955 <br />REPORT OF THE ORDINANCE COMMITTEE <br />Your Ordinance Committee to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2243 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE <br />BUILDING CODE Of THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND MORE PARTICULARLY REPEALING SECTION 37a AND ANY AMENDMENTS <br />THERETO, KNOWN AS THE SECTION ESTABLISHING FEES FOR BUILDING PERMITS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION <br />37a ON THE SAME SUBJECT, AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT, <br />has made a study of this Ordinance and recommends that this Ordinance be "killed" and that a new Ordinance <br />incorporating all of the amendments to Ordinance 2243 be submitted to the Council;. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />W. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Hahn moved that the next regular meeting of the Council be postponed until January 9th, 1956. <br />Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski moved to adjourn, which motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Muszynski.
