COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING AUGUST 29TH, 1955 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the <br />Whole meeting in the Council Chamber, Monday, August 29th, at 8:00 P.M., with all members present. Chairman <br />Hahn presided. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4060 (AS AMENDED) <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET - OPERATED DEPART- <br />MENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR <br />THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1956, AND ENDING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1956, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND <br />COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE <br />OR IN FART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE GENERAL FUNDS OF <br />SAID CITY, TO -WIT -. STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK DEPARTMENTS, <br />FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE <br />CITY PLAN COMMISSION: PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS <br />SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS: <br />FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES: <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN <br />CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL <br />TAKE EFFECT. <br />The budget was read in full and each departmental_ appropriation was considered individually. <br />OFFICE OF MAYOR <br />Councilman Korpal moved that the budget for the Office of Mayor be approved and go to the Council favorable. <br />Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CONTROLLER <br />Councilman Glass moved that the budget for the Office of Controller be approved and go to the Council favorable. <br />Councilman Erler seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CITY CLERK <br />Councilman Niezgodski moved that the budget for the Office of City.Clerk be approved and go to the Council <br />favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CITY TREASURER <br />Councilman Hahn moved that the budget for the Office of City Treasurer be approved and go to the Council <br />favorable. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CITY JUDGE <br />Councilman Bestle moved that the budget for the Office of City Judge be approved and go to the Council favor- <br />able. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />COMMON COUITCIL <br />Councilman Korpal moved that the budget for the Common Council be approved and go to the Council favorable. <br />Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF-CITY ATTORNEY <br />Councilman Erler moved that G -11, Salary of Clerk, Services Personal, be amended by striking out $2282.00 and <br />inserting $21$2.00; Grand Total by striking out $13,521.00 and inserting $13,421.00. Councilman Bestle seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. Councilman.Glass moved that the budget for the Office of City Attorney be <br />approved and go to the Council favorable as amended. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />OFFICE OF THE BOARD <br />Councilman Korpal moved that the budget for the Office of the Board be approved and go to the Council favor - <br />able. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />SEWER DEPARTMENT <br />Councilman Glass moved that the budget for the Sewer Department be approved and go to the Council favorable. <br />Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />DOG POUND <br />Councilman Bestle moved that the budget for the Dog Pound be approved and go to the Council favorable. <br />Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT <br />Councilman Niezgodski moved that the budget for the Engineering Department be approved and go to the Council <br />favorable. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br />Councilman Niezgodski moved that the budget for the Building Department be approved and go to the Council <br />favorable. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ELECTRICAL INSPECTION DEPARTMENT <br />Councilman Korpal moved that the budget for the Electrical'Inspection Department be approved and go to the <br />Council favorable. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
