REGULAR MEETING <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE -OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />AUGUST 22ND, 1955 <br />August 22nd, 1955 <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance transferring and appropriating from Street and <br />Traffic Fund Street Department S -724 Motor Equipment $12,000.00 to Street Department S -43 Materials (Street <br />and Alley) $12,000.00; from General Fund Sewer Department Services Contractual J -262 Repairs to Sewer Replace- <br />ment $2,250.00 to Office of Controller Service Contractual B -262 Other Contractual Services $2,250.00, all of <br />the budget for the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana for 1955 and declaring an extraordinary emergency". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance be reported to <br />the Council as favorable. <br />W. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4059 (AS AMENDED) <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING FROM <br />STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND STREET DEPARTMENT S -724 <br />MOTOR EQUIPMENT $12,000.00 TO STREET DEPARTMENT <br />S -43 MATERIALS (STREET AND ALLEY) $12,000.00; FROM <br />GENERAL FUND SEWER DEPARTMENT SERVICES CONTRACTUAL <br />J -262 REPAIRS TO SEWER REPLACEMENT $2,250.00 TO <br />OFFICE OF CONTROLLER SERVICES CONTRACTUAL B -262 OTHER <br />CONTRACTUAL SERVICES $2,250.00; ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR <br />THE_'CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR 1955 AND <br />DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />The ordinance, as amended, was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 0 nays. <br />REPORT FROM ORDINANCE COMMITTEE FOR OCCUPANCY PERMIT <br />To the Common Council: <br />REPORT OF ORDINANCE COMMITTEE ON ORDINANCE <br />FOR OCCUPANCY PERMIT. <br />Permit for Occupancy is now a part of the Building Code for new construction. <br />This Ordinance requires that this be put into Zoning Ordinance as an amendment for better control, in case there <br />is a change in the use of the building. This would give better control. There is no fee involved in this <br />Permit. <br />This committee, therefore, recommends the adoption of this ordinance. <br />WILLIAM A. HAHN <br />WALTER C. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />(Occupancy Permit) <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the ordinance be held in the Council until September 12th. Councilman <br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUND $21,820.51 <br />TO POLICE DEPARTMENT P -11 SERVICES PERSONAL $10,131.15; TO <br />P -341 CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD $2,700.00 TO P -724 MOTOR EQUIPMENT <br />$7,887.36; AND TO P -726 OTHER EQUIPMENT $1,102.00, ALL OF THE <br />BUDGET FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR 1955 AND <br />DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Bestle made a motion that <br />the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on September 12th. Councilman <br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the contract heretofore entered <br />into by and between the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the Mack Motor <br />Truck Corporation, for one (1) Type B -95 Mack 1000 G.P.M. Pumper for the contract price of $18,061.00, is <br />confirmed and approved. <br />(Signed) MICHAEL R.
