<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the
<br />Council Chamber on Monday, August 1st, 1955, at 8:00 P.M. (E.S.T.), with all members present.

<br />CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING
<br />To the President, and Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
<br />Gentlemen:
<br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City
<br />of South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called
<br />to meet in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall at the hour of 8:00 P.M. (E.S.T.), on Monday, August lst, 1955,
<br />for the purpose of considering the following ordinances, to -wit:
<br />"AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE
<br />OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET - OPERATED
<br />DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
<br />FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1956, AND
<br />ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1956, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS
<br />AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN
<br />WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE GENERAL
<br />FUNDS OF SAID CITY, TO -WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK
<br />DEPARTMENTS, FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN;'S PENSION
<br />FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION: PROVIDING-THAT
<br />SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING
<br />CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS: FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL
<br />CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
<br />AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING
<br />A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT ".
<br />ALSO
<br />"AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1956
<br />FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA ".
<br />The Chief of Police or any members of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this
<br />notice on each and every member-of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special
<br />Meeting.

<br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the call be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Korpal seconded
<br />the motion. Motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE

<br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion that
<br />the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on August 29th at 8:00 P.M. (E.S.T.). ;
<br />Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried.
