g� <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />ORDINANCES: <br />RESOLUTION <br />Garage, Private. -- In Committee to report on February 28th. <br />Side Yard. -- In Committee to report on February 28th. <br />JANUARY 24TH, 1955 <br />WHEREAS, the legal notice published in anewspaper of general circulation, as required by law, does not have the <br />desired result of notifying property owners in whose immediate vicinity a parcel of land is the subject <br />of a petition to rezone, and <br />WHEREAS, property owners in said vicinity are in a better position, because of their relatively long residence <br />and more detailed knowledge of the peculiar aspects of the subject property, to inform the Common Council <br />and the Planning Commission with relevant facts concerning said rezoning, at a Public Hearing, <br />Now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that any individual, firm, or corporation, or authorized agent of an individual, <br />firm, or corporation, shall be required to file the names and addresses of property owners adjacent to <br />the subject property, and the name and address of property owner directly across the street therefrom, <br />to a distance of 80 feet in both directions, at the time of filing the petition and ordinance to rezone; <br />and <br />Be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall reject any and all petitions not in compliance with the terms <br />of this Resolution. <br />(Signed) WALTER C. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Report and recommendations from the League of Women Voters. Councilman Korpal made a motion that the report be <br />accepted and placed on file. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that a committee be appointed to check on the state law on the question of how <br />the city could hold a referendum in connection with the fall election on Eastern Standard Time. Councilman Bestle <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 5 ayes (Councilmen Erler, Korpal, Bestle, Niezgodski <br />and Muszynski) - 2 nays (Councilmen Glass and Hahn) - 1 absent (Councilman Pinter.) <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Muszynski.
