COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING OCTOBER 11TH, 1954 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Committee of the Whole meeting in the Council. Chamber, Monday, October 11th, 1954, at 8:00 P.M., with all members present, except Councilman Pinter. Chairman Hahn presided. ORDINANCE NO. 4009 'An Ordinance amending Section 4 of Chapter 26 of Ordinance 3709 to provide for the rates of fare for taxicabs." Councilman Niezgodski moved that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE N0. 4010 "An Ordinance prohibiting possession, display or use of alcoholic beverages in certain public places and providing penalties for violations." Councilman Bestle moved that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 4011 "An Ordinance transferring and appropriating from Sanitation Department Services Personal XX -12 $2462.00 Building' Del,Jartment INIEi -11 Salary of Building Commissioner $1839.00 and to Salary of First Assistant Building Commissioner $623.00i.from Sanitation Department XX -12 Services Personal 12,000.00 and to YX -38 General Supplies $2,000.00; all of the budget for 1954 of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana and declaring an emergency.? Councilman Bestle moved'that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded_ the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3702 commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana." (Lock Joint Tube Co.). Councilman Niezgodski moved that persons interested in the above matter be limited to talk five minutes. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Niezgodski moved that the ordinance be referred to the Public Improvement Committee for further study until November 8th. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Korpal made a, motion to adjourn, which motion was seconded by.Councilman Muszynski. Motion carried, and the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourned at 9:25 P.M.
